Back in November I had a chance to talk with Helen Osborn, from Pharos Teaching and Tutoring, one of two overseas speakers at this year’s BIFHSGO conference.
Helen isn’t well known in North America so we recorded this short interview. It was done using my iPhone, behind a pillar to cut down on noise, at the British Library. Please excuse the sound quality.
Helen’s presentations in September are:
London’s Research Secrets: A Londoner’s Guide to Little-known Resources
London Village Life: Exploring Communities within the Metropolis
Rent, Burial Insurance and Coal: Working-class Life in Lambeth and the 1911 Census
The last of these is the focus of the interview, click below.
Family lore has it that our White ancestors came from London in the late 1800s. Hearing Helen’s preview of her London talks makes me excited to learn more about these ancestors.
